The Migration Accelerates
Cloud migration continues to accelerate, with AWS claiming one million business customers back in 2015 and likely closer to 2-3 million today. The other major players, Google and Microsoft, aren’t far behind, commanding more and more market share as adoption of Cloud Paas and IaaS continues to accelerate across all industries. The economic crisis stemming from COVID-19 could very well accelerate these trends, as the market realizes that those companies that have moved (or are in process of moving) their operations and infrastructure to the cloud are realizing the benefits of being able to continue running efficiently and operate at a high level even when their employees can’t physically access their offices or the servers housing their data.
Competition Continues to Amplify
The competition among major providers such as AWS, Google, and Microsoft Azure continues to heat up as each invests dramatically in innovation, making it easier and more cost effective for customers to run global operations on their platforms. A large component of the investment and growth being made in this area are the services being offered by these platforms — Databases, Document Management Services, Application Development Solutions, etc. In fact, the innovation and sheer value of these platform services has some companies adopting multi-cloud strategies, with the number increasing daily.

To this, we’d like to announce the new release of the Azure Blob & Google BigQuery Elements (connectors) to our Elements Catalog.
Azure Blob
From Microsoft:
“Azure Blob storage is a service for storing large amounts of unstructured object data, such as text or binary data. You can use Blob storage to expose data publicly to the world, or to store application data privately. Common uses of Blob storage include:
- Serving images or documents directly to a browser
- Storing files for distributed access
- Streaming video and audio
- Storing data for backup and restore, disaster recovery, and archiving
- Storing data for analysis by an on-premises or Azure-hosted service”
With the Azure Blob Element, product and IT developers can include Azure Blob connectivity as part of their integration strategy, whether it’s integrating Azure Blob with databases/data warehouses like Snowflake, additional document storage services in multi-cloud strategies (Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage), or Enterprise Applications like SAP S/4 Hana and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Google BigQuery
From Google:
“[Google BigQuery offers] a serverless, highly scalable, and cost-effective cloud data warehouse designed to help you make informed decisions quickly, so you can transform your business with ease.

With the Google BigQuery Element, developers can incorporate BigQuery accessibility into their solutions, for example, Marketing Analytics strategies that need to bring in data from core marketing applications including Marketo, Eloqua, SAP Marketing Cloud, and others.
Conclusion
Cloud Elements will continue to support cloud integration strategies by offering pre-built connectivity to more and more platform services, and, with Element Builder, any platform service offering an API (which is all of them!) can be connected to easily and in a consistent manner.
